Jeddah Chauffeur Service for Business Travel: Planning the Day
A Jeddah business day becomes cheaper on full day chauffeur hire than on separate transfers at about seven movements in a sedan, and at only three in an eleven seat van. Published Jeddah rates start at SAR 210 for an airport transfer and SAR 1,380 for twelve hours. Quotes on +966 56 644 0190.
Most business travellers buy a car in Jeddah the way they buy one anywhere else. They arrange the airport pickup, then arrange each meeting transfer as it comes up, and somewhere in the second afternoon they discover they have spent more than a full day of hire would have cost and lost forty minutes of it standing on a forecourt waiting for a car that was already somewhere else.
This guide is about one decision and the arithmetic underneath it. Should your Jeddah day be bought as separate transfers or as a block of twelve hours, and how do you tell which one you are in before you land rather than after. Every figure below comes from the published Jeddah rate card on our pricing page. Nothing here is estimated. Makkah and Madinah routes are quoted per route, and we say so rather than inventing a number.
The Shape of the City Decides the Day
Jeddah is a long city on a coast, and that single fact governs how a working day behaves inside it. King Abdulaziz International Airport sits north of the districts most visitors actually work in. The hotel and business corridor runs down the coast and inland through the Tahlia and Al Andalus areas. The historic quarter and the port sit south of that again. King Abdullah Economic City is roughly a hundred kilometres further north up the coastal road, and Makkah is inland to the east.
The consequence is that a Jeddah day is rarely a cluster. It is a line. Two appointments that look adjacent on a map can be half an hour apart at four in the afternoon, and a north to south run at the wrong hour takes longer than either party expects. Plan the day as a sequence along an axis rather than as a set of independent errands, and the vehicle question mostly answers itself.
It also explains the single most common scheduling error we see. A visitor lands at midday, takes a transfer to the hotel in the north, books a meeting in the south for two o'clock, and a second meeting back north for four. That is not two meetings. That is two meetings and roughly ninety minutes of coastline, twice.
The Break Even Almost Nobody Works Out
Here is the arithmetic that settles this, and it is not complicated. A point to point transfer in Jeddah has a published price. So does twelve hours of hire. Divide the day rate by the transfer rate and you get the number of movements at which the day becomes the cheaper purchase on price alone, before anything else is counted.
| Vehicle | Transfer | Full day, 12h | Day rate wins from |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUV, Toyota Fortuner | SAR 210 | SAR 1,380 | 7 movements |
| Sedan, Ford Taurus | SAR 230 | SAR 1,725 | 8 movements |
| Luxury sedan, Lexus ES | SAR 255 | SAR 2,070 | 9 movements |
| SUV, GMC Yukon | SAR 290 | SAR 2,070 | 8 movements |
| BMW 7 Series | SAR 920 | SAR 4,600 | 5 movements |
| Mercedes S Class | SAR 920 | SAR 4,830 | 6 movements |
| Hyundai H1, 11 seats | SAR 690 | SAR 2,070 | 3 movements |
| Toyota Hiace, 11 seats | SAR 920 | SAR 2,070 | 3 movements |
| Toyota Coaster, 21 seats | SAR 920 | SAR 2,300 | 3 movements |
Two things fall out of that table and both are worth knowing before anybody books anything.
The first is that a solo traveller in a sedan needs a genuinely full day before the day rate wins on price by itself. Seven or eight separate movements is a lot of appointments for one person in one city. If your day is an arrival, two meetings and a dinner, the transfers are cheaper and we will tell you so.
The second is the one that surprises people. The larger and the more expensive the vehicle, the sooner the day rate wins. An eleven seat Hyundai H1 breaks even at three movements. A visiting team that lands, goes to the hotel, attends two meetings and returns to the airport the next morning has already passed that line without doing anything unusual. So has any delegation. The moment your booking involves a group vehicle, the argument for buying the day rather than the trip stops being about comfort and becomes about the invoice.
Published Jeddah Rates
These are the retail rates for Jeddah and Dammam as published. Riyadh is priced separately and is lower on most classes, which is worth knowing if your trip covers both cities. VAT applies.
| Vehicle | Seats | Airport transfer | Full day, 12h | Extra hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SUV, Toyota Fortuner | 6 | SAR 210 | SAR 1,380 | SAR 115 |
| Sedan, Ford Taurus | 3 | SAR 230 | SAR 1,725 | SAR 140 |
| Luxury sedan, Lexus ES | 3 | SAR 255 | SAR 2,070 | SAR 175 |
| SUV, GMC Yukon | 6 | SAR 290 | SAR 2,070 | SAR 185 |
| BMW 7 Series | 3 | SAR 920 | SAR 4,600 | SAR 440 |
| Mercedes S Class | 3 | SAR 920 | SAR 4,830 | SAR 460 |
| Hyundai H1 | 11 | SAR 690 | SAR 2,070 | SAR 175 |
| Hyundai Staria | 11 | SAR 690 | SAR 2,300 | SAR 210 |
| Toyota Hiace | 11 | SAR 920 | SAR 2,070 | SAR 175 |
| Toyota Coaster | 21 | SAR 920 | SAR 2,300 | SAR 210 |
The extra hour column matters more on a business trip than it does on any other kind. A twelve hour day that starts with a nine o'clock pickup ends at nine in the evening, and a dinner that runs long is billed by the hour rather than by a second day. On a Fortuner that is SAR 115. It is worth knowing the number so that nobody is watching the clock during the part of the trip that actually closes the deal.
What the Day Rate Actually Buys
Price is the smaller half of this decision. The larger half is what happens in the gaps.
A transfer is a delivery. The car takes you to an address and then it leaves, because it has another job to get to. Everything after that is a new arrangement made under time pressure, usually from a lobby, usually while somebody is waiting for you to finish the conversation you are having with them.
A full day is a reservation of the vehicle and the chauffeur for twelve hours. The car is outside when the meeting overruns by twenty minutes. It is also outside when the meeting ends forty minutes early, which happens at least as often and is the version nobody plans for. Your bags stay in the car between the hotel checkout and the flight. The chauffeur learns your day by the third stop and stops needing directions.
What you are paying for is not the upholstery. It is that at no point in your day is anybody waiting for a car.
The Three Ways a Jeddah Business Day Goes Wrong
The meeting that moves. A host offers to bring the appointment forward by an hour, or the one before it runs forty minutes over. On transfers, that is a renegotiation and a wait. On a day booking it is a sentence to the chauffeur.
The luggage with nowhere to be. This is the classic Jeddah checkout day. You leave the hotel at nine, you have meetings until three, and your flight is at seven. On separate transfers your suitcase spends the day being a problem: hotel storage, then a detour back to collect it, then traffic you had not allowed for. On a day booking the case simply stays in the boot from the moment you check out.
The last leg at the wrong hour. The run north to King Abdulaziz International Airport is the one leg of the day where being wrong is expensive, because the cost of it is a missed flight rather than an awkward apology. It is also the leg most often booked last and in a hurry. Fix it first, with the flight number, and let the chauffeur work backwards from it.
Choosing the Vehicle for a Business Day
- Travelling alone or as a pair. The Toyota Fortuner at SAR 1,380 for the day is the sensible default and the most economical vehicle on the Jeddah card. The Lexus ES at SAR 2,070 is the choice when you will be seen arriving.
- Client facing at board level. The Mercedes S Class at SAR 4,830 and the BMW 7 Series at SAR 4,600 exist for the days when the car is part of the meeting. They break even against transfers faster than any sedan on the card, at five or six movements, because their transfer price is high relative to the day.
- Three to five colleagues. The GMC Yukon at SAR 2,070 keeps a small team in one vehicle and one conversation between stops, which is usually worth more than the seat comfort.
- A visiting team of six to eleven. The Hyundai H1 or Toyota Hiace at SAR 2,070 for the day. Remember that eleven seats holds eight people once everybody has a case, which we set out properly in our group vehicle guide.
- A delegation of twelve or more. The Toyota Coaster at SAR 2,300 for twelve hours, or the larger coaches for conference and event movements. Our group transport and corporate pages cover the standing arrangements.
The Arrival, and the Thing to Settle Before You Land
An airport transfer from King Abdulaziz International starts at SAR 210 for a Fortuner and SAR 230 for a sedan, with an S Class at SAR 920. It is a fixed published price rather than a meter, which is the entire point of arranging it in advance.
Send three things when you book and the arrival takes care of itself: the flight number, the terminal, and the name the chauffeur should hold. The flight number matters most, because it lets the arrival be tracked and the pickup moved when the aircraft is late. A booking made on a landing time rather than a flight number is a booking that goes wrong quietly, and it goes wrong at the exact moment you are least equipped to fix it, which is at the kerb of an unfamiliar airport on foreign roaming.
If you are arriving into Riyadh or Dammam on the same trip, the Riyadh and Dammam pages carry the same detail for those airports, and Riyadh is priced lower on most classes.
When Separate Transfers Genuinely Win
We would rather say this plainly than sell twelve hours to somebody who needs three.
If your trip is an arrival, one meeting and a departure the next morning, book three transfers and keep the difference. If your host is collecting you and returning you, book the airport legs only. If you are in Jeddah for a single evening event and the hotel is walking distance from the venue, you do not need a car at all and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling.
The day rate is for the day that is genuinely a day: several movements, uncertain timing, luggage in transit, or more than three people who need to arrive together. Our hourly service covers the middle ground, for the afternoon that is busier than a transfer and shorter than a day.
If the Trip Includes Makkah
Jeddah is the gateway to the holy cities and a large share of business visits add a Umrah leg at the end. That leg is not on the Jeddah rate card. Routes to Makkah and Madina are quoted per route, because the same nominal journey behaves differently in peak season than it does on a quiet weekday, and a fixed published number would be wrong most of the time.
Two practical points. The chauffeur and vehicle for the holy city legs must hold the permits those zones require, which is not a formality and is the reason a street arrangement made on the day so often falls through. And the return leg is worth fixing at the same time as the outbound, for reasons we set out in our Jeddah airport to Makkah guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a chauffeur in Jeddah for a full day?
Published Jeddah full day hire covers twelve hours with a professional chauffeur and fuel, from SAR 1,380 for a Toyota Fortuner, SAR 1,725 for a sedan and SAR 2,070 for a Lexus ES, a GMC Yukon or an eleven seat Hyundai H1. A Mercedes S Class is SAR 4,830. VAT applies.
Is it cheaper to book separate transfers or a full day in Jeddah?
It depends on how many times you move. On a Fortuner the day rate matches about seven transfers, so fewer movements than that and the transfers are cheaper. On an eleven seat van it matches three. Any day with luggage in transit or uncertain timing usually favours the day rate regardless of the count, because the car waits.
How much is a transfer from King Abdulaziz International Airport?
Published Jeddah airport transfers start at SAR 210 for a Toyota Fortuner and SAR 230 for a sedan, rising to SAR 920 for a Mercedes S Class or BMW 7 Series. Send the flight number when you book so the pickup can be tracked against the actual arrival rather than the scheduled one.
What happens if my meetings run past twelve hours?
Additional time beyond the twelve hours is billed at the published extra hour rate for that vehicle, which is SAR 115 on a Fortuner, SAR 140 on a sedan, SAR 175 on a Lexus ES or an H1 and SAR 460 on an S Class. It is an hourly extension rather than a second day.
Can the same chauffeur take me from Jeddah to Makkah?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to arrange it, but the Makkah leg is quoted per route rather than taken from the Jeddah card. The vehicle and chauffeur must hold the permits the holy city zones require. Send the route and the date to +966 56 644 0190 and the quote usually comes back within minutes.
How far in advance should I book a business day in Jeddah?
For a standard sedan or SUV, a day or two is usually enough. For an S Class, a BMW 7 Series, a group vehicle or anything during a major event or peak Umrah season, book as early as the itinerary allows, because the specific vehicle rather than the service is what runs out.
