KAFD Riyadh: A Chauffeur Guide to the King Abdullah Financial District for Meetings, Events and Airport Runs

Roark Chauffeur
9 min read

KAFD, the King Abdullah Financial District, sits in north Riyadh on King Fahd Road where it meets the Northern Ring Road. It is a district of around 95 towers rather than a single building, so the right tower name and entrance matter more than the address. The KAFD metro station joins three lines, and a Riyadh full day with a chauffeur starts from SAR 1,150.

For a visiting executive, KAFD is often the whole reason for the trip. Banks, regional headquarters, consultancies and government linked funds sit within a few hundred metres of each other, and a day of meetings can mean four towers before lunch and a dinner in Olaya afterwards. For a resident, it is where the client is. And from October, with Riyadh Season using the stadium inside the district, it is also an evening destination for tens of thousands of people who have never worked there.

This guide explains how the district works on the ground, how to get there from the airport and the hotels, when a chauffeur makes sense and when the metro is the better choice, and what a day in a car actually costs at our published Riyadh rates.

KAFD in Brief

The figures below come from published profiles of the district. Tower names, entrances and parking arrangements change as new buildings open, so always confirm the exact building with the person you are meeting.

Why a District Is Harder Than a Building

Most addresses in Riyadh lead a driver to one door. KAFD does not. It is a compact grid of towers wrapped by major roads, with internal streets, underground car parks and drop off points that belong to individual buildings. A meeting "at KAFD" can be a five minute walk from another meeting "at KAFD", or it can be on the far side of the district with a road between them.

That is why the question a good chauffeur asks is not the address but the tower and the entrance. Give us the building name, and if your host has told you which lobby or car park to use, pass that on too. A driver who arrives at the wrong side of a tower costs you ten minutes on foot in the heat, which is exactly what you hired a car to avoid.

The skybridges help once you are inside. Many visitors are dropped at one tower and walk to the next under cover. Tell your chauffeur where your last meeting ends, not only where the first one begins, and the car will be waiting there.

Metro, Taxi or Chauffeur

KAFD is one of the best served places in Riyadh by public transport. The station is one of the largest on the network, the Yellow line runs between King Khalid International Airport and the district, and the Blue line runs along Olaya. For a solo traveller with light luggage and a single meeting, the metro is a sensible and inexpensive choice. Our guide to getting around Riyadh by metro, taxi and chauffeur compares the options honestly.

Ride hailing works for one trip at a time. It is less comfortable when the day has six legs, when you are carrying presentation material, or when you need to leave a meeting that has run over and be somewhere else in fifteen minutes. That is the day a chauffeur is built for: one car, one driver who already knows your schedule, and nobody refreshing an app in a lobby.

From King Khalid International to KAFD

KAFD sits between the airport and the city centre, which makes it one of the easier runs from King Khalid International. Journey time depends heavily on the hour, so plan around the morning and evening peaks on King Fahd Road and the ring road. Since February 2026 foreign airlines use Terminal 5, and our King Khalid terminals guide sets out the current map.

The published one way Riyadh airport transfers, with meet and greet in the arrivals hall, are below. VAT applies.

Vehicle Riyadh airport transfer
SUV, Toyota Fortuner or similarSAR 210
SUV, GMC Yukon or similarSAR 290
Hyundai H1 or StariaSAR 575
Toyota CoasterSAR 690
BMW 7 Series or Mercedes S ClassSAR 690

If you are going straight from the plane to a meeting, book the transfer to the tower rather than to your hotel, and let your luggage stay in the car. The chauffeur waits, and the hotel becomes the last stop of the day instead of the first.

Three Kinds of KAFD Day

The visiting executive. Lands in the morning, has four meetings across three towers, lunches with a client, and ends with dinner in Olaya or on Tahlia Street. A twelve hour full day with a chauffeur covers the lot, and the same driver collects you at the airport the next evening. Our business travel guide to Riyadh covers what to expect from the car and the chauffeur.

The company hosting visitors. A regional headquarters with a board meeting, an investor day or a week of client visits needs guests collected from the airport, brought to the right lobby and taken on to their hotels. That is the core of our corporate chauffeur service, normally one account covering several vehicles, with a single point of contact who knows the guest list.

The evening at the stadium. When a major event runs at the Riyadh Season Stadium, the district fills with visitors who do not know its layout and leave at the same moment. A car that drops you close to your gate and waits at an agreed point afterwards is worth more that night than at any other time. Larger groups belong under event transportation.

Events at KAFD This Season

Riyadh Season 2026 opens on Wednesday 21 October, as announced by the General Entertainment Authority. WWE has announced Crown Jewel for Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD. Both are announced events with published dates. A confirmed event is still not a confirmed car, so if you plan to attend, book early and agree the pickup point before you go in.

The same weeks are busy across the city. The Six Kings Slam and the season opening fall in late October, the Future Investment Initiative and the Global Health Exhibition run on the same four days from 26 to 29 October, and many of their delegates hold side meetings in KAFD. Our FII and Global Health transport guide explains why that week will stretch the city's premium fleet.

The Published Riyadh Rates

These are the full retail figures for Riyadh from our rate tables. Each full day covers twelve hours with a professional chauffeur and fuel included, and extra hours are billed at the rate shown. A KAFD day costs what any other Riyadh day costs. VAT applies.

Our own arithmetic on that table, before VAT: a five day working week in a GMC Yukon comes to SAR 8,625, three days in a Lexus ES to SAR 4,485, and a single board day in a Mercedes S Class to SAR 4,370. Every vehicle is described on the fleet page.

Full Day, Hourly or Transfers

If you have one meeting at KAFD and nothing else, two transfers or the metro will do. If your day has three or more stops, a meeting that might overrun, or an evening commitment, a twelve hour full day is usually cheaper than it looks and much calmer than a string of separate rides. For a single dinner or a stadium evening, hourly hire is the lighter option.

For companies with regular visitors, the simplest arrangement is one account and one standing instruction: which towers, which entrances, who signs off. After the first week nobody needs to explain the district again. More on the capital is on our Riyadh chauffeur service page.

Practical Tips for the Pickup

Send the tower name and the lobby with the booking, not on the morning. Share your mobile number with the chauffeur and keep it on during meetings, because a two line message saying which exit you are taking saves more time than any route. Allow extra time at the start and end of the working day, when the ring road and King Fahd Road carry the heaviest traffic. And on event nights, agree the pickup point before you go in, since the roads closest to the stadium are the first to close and the last to clear.
